13th Annual BYSL Columbus Cup

October 10 - 11, 2009

     The BYSL Columbus Cup returns for its 13th year of competition. The Columbus Cup is a two day event with a three game guarantee offering great competition to teams in the U9 - U19 age divisions. The tournament is a fundraiser for the Brevard Youth Soccer League, with a portion of all tournament entry fees being donated by Cocoa Expo back to the league.

     Bring your team out for a weekend of outstanding soccer and help support the Brevard Youth Soccer League as they continue to make available the great game of soccer to our community.

All Cocoa Expo tournaments are open to Girls and Boys U9-U19. We accept teams from U.S.S.F Youth Soccer Affiliates, U.S. Club Soccer, Super-Y League and International Associations. The teams have to be a Premier Team, Select Team, Classic Team, League Team, or Recreational All-Star Teams.

        Requirements:

Each player must have signed a Medical Release Form. Out-of-state teams must submit a Permission To Travel form. 

International teams must provide an approved Permission to Travel letter from their governing association, roster and proof of insurance.

All age groups are allowed to include up to 4 "guest players" on their roster.  Guest players must be registered players and meet the age requirements.  A guest player from outside the team’s home state must have written permission to play from his home association.

        Playing Location:

Tournament teams will compete at the Cocoa Expo Sports Center (10 fields) and nearby offsite locations (if necessary).

        Tournament Rules:

All tournaments will be played under F.Y.S.A. rules in accordance with U.S.Y.S.A., U.S.S.F., and F.I.F.A. In age groups U16 through U19 involving two or more international teams the F.I.F.A. limited schoolboy/girl substitution rules will apply.  A complete set of rules will be sent to your team after your team is accepted.

Registered boy's and girl's teams from the U9 - U19 age groups are invited to participate in the BYSL Columbus Cup. To be eligible for a particular age group, the player must be born on or after August 1.  Please check the age guidelines if you are uncertain about a player.

        Sanctioning Bodies:

Cocoa Expo tournaments have been officially sanctioned by the Florida Youth Soccer Association in cooperation with the U.S.Y.S.A., U.S.S.F. and F.I.F.A.
