Cocoa Expo Sports Center
Located on the east coast of central Florida, just
minutes from beautiful Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center and Ron Jon's
Surf Shop, the Cocoa Expo Sports Center is the ideal winter baseball
camp location. Cocoa Expo Sports Center was designed as a Major League
training center and is the former spring training home of the Houston
Astros and Florida Marlins. The 70 acre complex has a 5,000 lighted
stadium and a lighted baseball quadraplex, three additional full size
practice fields, three little league fields (two with lights), 100 room
air conditioned athletes dormitory, “All-Star Buffet” cafeteria, 25,000
square foot indoor gymnasium, meeting rooms, swimming pool and game
room. In addition to its outstanding baseball amenities, Cocoa Expo’s
location makes it the ideal camp destination. The Center is just a short
drive from the worlds most popular attractions: Universal Studios,
Disney World and Sea World. Bring the whole family and enjoy the
best baseball instruction and recreation that Florida has to offer.

Camp Director: Bob Rikeman (Head Coach Newberry College, SC) The Cocoa Expo Baseball Academy is pleased to have Bob Rikeman as its Camp Director. Coach Rikeman is entering his second year as Head Coach at Newberry College in South Carolina. Previous to his arrival at Newberry, coach Rikeman spent 11 seasons as Head Coach at Rollins College (FL) where he turned the Tars into a national baseball power. During his tenure as Rollins, Rikeman elevated Tars baseball to national prominence advancing the team to the NCAA South Region Tournament three times in his final four seasons, including a trip to the 2004 College World Series. He compiled a record of 349-250 (.582 winning percentage) at Rollins. Coach Rikeman was named the Sunshine State Conference and South Region Coach of the Year in 2004 while leading Rollings to its first SCC Championship and a #4 overall ranking in the final national poll. Rikeman also worked as the Northeast Region scout for the Chicago White Sox, analyzing potential draft picks and directing Sox tryout camps. |
